A New State of Health
Rutgers Health, in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health, is forming New Jersey's largest academic health system to care for you. The public-private partnership will jointly operate a world-class academic health system dedicated to life-changing research, clinical training of tomorrow’s health care workforce, and high-quality patient care.
Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences
Our powerhouse academic division comprises
- eight schools and their attendant centers and institutes;
- New Jersey’s leading comprehensive cancer center; and
- numerous additional centers and institutes.
Aligned with Rutgers University–New Brunswick, RBHS collaborates with units across the university and with many other academic, research, and clinical units throughout the region.
Health Education
Built on the core eight schools of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, Rutgers delivers health sciences education across a broad continuum. Additionally, a world of knowledge and information fuels health care advances—knowledge and information that depend on chemists, economists, mathematicians, microbiologists, political scientists, and others educated in the essential arts and physical, social, and life sciences.

Rutgers Health is New Jersey's premier, university-based provider of patient care. Our medical and dental practices, community-focused clinics, and behavioral health care centers throughout the state are ready to serve you with compassionate care. In addition, our academic clinical trials involve hundreds of researchers and thousands of patients.
New Jersey’s Only
Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey is the state's only Comprehensive Cancer Center as recognized by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
In 2019 the Cancer Institute of New Jersey was awarded a $15.1 million grant as part of its successful redesignation as an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center. The prestigious designation, held by only 50 such centers across the nation, is granted competitively to institutions characterized by the highest level of scientific excellence in cancer research and the ability to translate research discoveries into novel treatments.
